Louisville, Lexington mayors announce plans to grow Bluegrass jobs

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – On Monday morning, Nov. 25, the mayors of Louisville and Lexington announced plans to grow jobs in the Bluegrass.

Mayor Greg Fischer and Mayor Jim Gray formed the Bluegrass Economic Advancement Movement, also called "BEAM," to accelerate growth in local manufacturing.

They hope to double the number of engineers coming from higher education schools and want to solidify the partnership between the two cities to grow more jobs.

The mayors' say their goal is to make Kentucky a center for advanced manufacturing.
