In just one week the largest vaccination effort in Jefferson County will begin.

WHAS11 got that news Wednesday and learned that two more Jefferson County residents have died from the H1N1 virus.

It's news that's adding to people's concern.

Plans for Jefferson County residents were announced Wednesday. There will be 15,000 vaccine doses available and clinics start next week at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

Those 15,000 doses of H1N1 vaccines will be for high risk patients will be available in Jefferson County in one week and officials, expecting a huge turnout, are asking for patience.

The announcement comes as concerns continue to escalate as people learn two more Jefferson County residents considered to be high risk, died from the virus.

In the high risk group: pregnant women, people who care for children under 6-months-old, children 6 months to 4-years-old, or 5 to 19-years-old with chronic medical conditions and healthcare and emergency workers.

While people in Jefferson County anxiously wait for the vaccine, other counties have been giving it out but in frustratingly small amounts.

"Part of the problem is we don't know what we're getting and the state of Indiana doesn't know what we're getting so it's like Christmas when the box arrives and you see how many doses you have and start making your plans from there," said Tom Harris, Floyd County Health Officer.

Despite the wait, parents at a Floyd County vaccine clinic Wednesday said, they're just relieved to be able to get it at all.

The Louisville clinics will be held at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium on November 11 and 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
