LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The Louisville Bats are hoping a major league manager can help them back into the playoffs this upcoming season. The club introduced Jim Riggleman as its new manager Monday.
This is Riggleman's third stint in Louisville. In 1982 he was coach of the Redbirds and again in 1988. Riggleman has had four stints as a major league manager, most recently with the Washington Nationals from 2009 to 2011.In 1998 he led the Chicago Cubs to the playoffs.
Riggleman says at the end of the day, it's not about experience, it's about getting the job done everyday.
The Bats season and home opener is on April 4. This is their third manager in three years.
