LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A huge surprise Wednesday for a Louisville fifth grader at Breckinridge Franklin Elementary School as he was presented with tickets to this year’s Kentucky Derby.
The student found out he is going to the Derby in style as the 2013 winner of the “Horsing Around with Art” contest. The fifth grader’s artwork was selected by Churchill Downs president Kevin Flannery and was chosen for capturing the spirit of the Derby.
The Derby Museum honored the student at school and he was awarded with six box seats for this year’s Derby.
