LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Leaders from more than 10 difference faiths came together Monday morning to rally against hunger in Kentuckiana.

They may have different beliefs when it comes to spirituality, but said they are all united by a single message; fighting hunger in Kentuckiana.

According to statistics, one in six families struggle with food insecurity and Dare to Care food bank helps relieve some of that struggle. Dare to Care, to date, has distributed more that 13,000,000 meals in Kentuckiana.

Dare to Care said the need for food assistance has never been higher and many children wake up wondering if there will be enough food for the day.

The food bank is funded through events like the Hunger Walk -- it's coming up Sept. 14.
