LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The country's luckiest pet could live right here in Louisville.

Ellie May was rescued and adopted through the Louisville Weimaraner Rescue.

She had been beaten, starved and neglected and had to have her right leg amputated.

Ellie May is a finalist for the Luckiest Pet Contest sponsored by Petfinder and Animal Planet. If she wins, she'll get a $500 gift card to Petco and the Louisville Weimaraner Rescue will get a $5,000 donation.
