LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Lloyd Vest, an attorney with the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure says they issued an emergency order of restriction against Dr. Ghias Arar.
This order means that Dr. Arar will not be able to see female patients pending the result of their investigation into allegations against him.
This order is effective when his attorneys are served with the paperwork. They say that by Wednesday, they expect the doctor to be aware of the restriction and he will no longer see female patients.
Dr. Arar can request an emergency hearing in hopes of lifting the emergency restriction but if he does not, or if he is unsuccessful, it remains in place until the medical board completes their investigation.
Dr. Arar was supposed to be in court Tuesday but his court date was moved to March.
