LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The Louisville Metro Council court met Tuesday afternoon, July 16, for a pre-trial hearing on the removal of Barbara Shanklin.
That meeting got a little testy.
Shanklin is accused of violating ethics codes by misusing taxpayer money and improperly hiring family members.
“The police investigators found no evidence, no reason, no probable cause to believe that my client had engaged in criminal activity,” Aubrey Williams, Shanklin’s attorney, said.
Next Tuesday, July 23, the council will meet again to actually begin the process of removing Shanklin from her position.
It’s been announced already that Shanklin won't face criminal charges.
