LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A local businessman is the latest recipient of the Louisvillian of the Year Award.
On Friday Louisville's Chapter of the American Advertising Federation honored George Fischer.
Fischer was chosen as the 2012 Louisvillian of the Year because of his involvement in the opening of the non-profit family community clinic in Butchertown, which is staffed by volunteers.
Fischer is also the father of Louisville Mayor, Greg Fischer.
George Fischer said, “well it’s definitely an honor. I love Louisville, and it’s an honor not just to me, but an honor to my family and an honor to my wife who's a great role model, and my family, all my cousins and all the people who helped me all these years.”
The Louisvillian of the Year award has been given out since the 1950’s. It's designed to publicly recognize generous personal contributions to the Louisville community.
