LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer wants to spread the message of compassion. Part of that idea is the Festival of Faiths, which this year ties into a visit by the Dalai Lama.
That message of compassion is getting the city some national recognition.
"People are paying attention to what's happening in Louisville, Ky. and all of us need to know that because it's real and it's something that we can use to encourage ourselves to keep going on this somewhat unusual path but extremely exciting path," Owsley Brown III, Festival of Faiths chairman, said.
The 2013 Festival of Faiths is May 14 through 19 with events at Actors Theatre, the Galt House and the Dalai Lama's talk at the KFC Yum! Center.
Tickets to his talk are available through Ticketmaster.
