(WHAS11) Talk about a sweet deal. A local woman has a chance at winning $1 million, by using her talents in the kitchen.
Kathy Langnehs is one of the 100 finalists in the 44th Pillsbury Bake-off.
Kathy said she loves cooking and stumbled upon the contest while looking up recipes online. So she entered the recipe for her peach pecan thumbprint cookies.
She said she uses Pillsbury’s sugar cookie dough, adds in some spices, pecans, peach preserves and makes a glaze, with Woodford Reserve!
“It’s very southern, it’s very Kentucky, it’s got Kentucky traces of the south in it, which is something I always try to incorporate into my cooking,” said Kathy.
She said she’s very excited and honored, and later this month she’ll have a demo at her local Valley Station Kroger. Then next month, she flies to Orlando to compete.
