LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Meredith Linehan said she was driving down Broadway, which was packed with people celebrating the University of Louisville's win over Duke, when she decided to take a left at South 28th to get off the busy street.
When Linehan turned, she said she nearly hit an officer she did not see directing traffic and the officer started yelling at her.
“I stopped my car and within 60 seconds I was on the ground. My face was on the pavement," Linehan said.
Linehan said the officer drew his gun at her and then handcuffed her. She was then released but cited with a misdemeanor - second degree wanton endangerment.
Linehan said she went to University Hospital where she had x-rays done.
"I got scratched all down my eye," Linehan said.
The Professional Standard Committee with LMPD is investigating Linehan's allegations against the officer.
Police were unable to comment because of the ongoing investigation.
