LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)- A local man has owned some of the most popular restaurants in Louisville, and now he is facing federal charges. Authorities say the restaurant owner threatened a young man in graphic detail.
Majid Ghavami used to own Saffron’s in downtown Louisville. He is been a part owner of Volare in Crescent Hill. Now, Ghavami just opened Majid’s in St. Matthews.
Ghavami is now facing federal charges for allegedly threatening a young man from Louisville, who now lives in California. The criminal complaint from federal court alleges that Ghavami left six voicemail messages on the man’s cell phone over 30 minutes.
The complaint says Ghavami made comments like the following:
“You’re a dead *** ***. You’ll see that.”
“I want you to be afraid every time you go anywhere. You turn around I’m gonna be *** there and I will not let this go until you are dead. I mean that. I’m leaving this on your voicemail so you can *** keep it as evidence.”
“I also want you to know that you cannot run away from me.”
“Six months to live the joy I take in, taking you down with me. Wait for it.”
WHAS11 News talked to Ghavami and his attorney Tuesday. Neither of them wanted to be interviewed for this story, but Ghavami says off camera that it is not what it looks like. He says it was a personal matter and he was defending his family.
