A local pilot is back home after helping out in Haiti after last month's devastating earthquake.

Tom Eifler landed in Louisville after 16.5 hours of flying.

He says he's never felt so glad to land in the U.S.

While in Haiti, Eifler flew doctors and nurses around the island for Edge Outreach.

He also delivered supplies.

Eifler said, “I'll never forget the visuals of the buildings and the people and the smell. The smell of everything going on down there. It's just. I'll never forget it. But, it was an amazing trip and we met some amazing people and I’d like to continue to stay involved down there.”

Patrick Keesee, a local pediatric dentist, went with Eifler to Haiti.

While there Keesee provided dental care to orphans.
