LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – In wake of the Typhoon Haiyan tragedy in the Philippines, Louisville-based non-profit WaterStep announced plans to get involved in relief efforts.

The organization says it’s preparing to send 100 chlorine generators to the Philippines which will help thousands of typhoon victims receive clean water.

The generators are powerful enough to produce 55-gallons of usable water per minute.

Currently, WaterStep is looking for the right relief organization to give the generators to.

Each of the generators cost about $1200 a piece.
