(WHAS11) -- Tolls have been a divisive issue for the Ohio River Bridges Project since the beginning.

Some people say only the new bridges should be tolled while others think there should not be any tolls.

Dan Seum the chair of the Jefferson County Senate Republican Caucus says the only way to get all Ky. lawmakers on board with paying for the bridges is to toll them all.

“The answer to this is the sooner we put the tolls out there, the sooner we start building a bridge,” said Seum.

Seum said he thinks those most affected by the tolls would be Indiana commuters, tourists and truck drivers.
