LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Good Samaritans stepped in to save two young children in a car crash Wednesday afternoon.

Police say a mother with two young children in the car may have been driving the wrong way down Muhammad Ali Blvd. when she collided with a pickup truck at Hodge Street at about 3:15 PM.

The children were pulled out of the car and appeared to be unhurt. Their mother and the woman driving the pickup were taken by ambulance to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known at this point, but both were awake and talking when they left the scene.

The intersection was shut down for about an hour while crews cleared the scene.
