(WHAS11) – Louisville Metro Police are investigating a shooting in old Louisville.

Police say Jason Crase walked into a store and tried to rob it and the owner fought back taking aim at the intruder.

It happened at Jimmy's Corner Market at around 8 p.m. Wednesday night.

Police say the man allegedly walked into the business and demanded money. The owner gave it up, but then pulled a gun and shot the robber.

The wounded suspect then fled the scene and police say they found him at University Hospital.

Police say Crase could face charges of first degree burglary.

The man who shot him, they say, acted in self defense and will not be charged.
