LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Metro Police is searching for one man after a cab driver was shot at 20th and Jefferson streets during a carjacking.
Officers on scene said he was shot in the arm and abdomen. He was taken to the hospital and both MetroSafe and officers on scene expected him to survive.
The cab driver was cleaning his cab at the car wash when officers say the man came up from behind. A witness saw the cab drive on two wheels across Jefferson Street.
The cab is Checker Cab #448, a silver van. Witnesses alerted police that a van was in a backyard across Jefferson Street near Green Street. The cab was found with its doors open and no one inside. K9 officers and others searched the scene but did not find anyone.
