(WHAS11) -- Bills for LG&E customers may go up a few dollars a month. The Kentucky Public Service Commission accepted a settlement increase on the base electric rates and natural gas rates for LG&E customers.
The average monthly bill for a residential customer will increase $4.25. This equals a five percent increase. A natural gas customer will see a $5.57 increase.
The increase will take effect on January 1.
