LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Gas and Electric said it hasn't seen any widespread problems with brown outs due to our recent heat wave but there are a few things you can do to cut down on energy right now.

You should change your air filter in your A/C unit and turn down the unit if you can bear to do that during the day.

You can sign up for LG&E's Demand Conservation program right now and it runs through September.

It is essentially a switch that is placed on your air conditioning unit that cycles your air compressor on or off during peak energy usage hours.
