Ky. to get more than $6M in federal funds to help long-term unemployed

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Kentucky is getting more than six million dollars in federal funds to help the long-term unemployed workers get training to find a new job.

The state intends to use the funds to provide services such as on-the-job training, customized training and apprenticeships.    

Funding will also be used for coaching, counseling and direct job placement to help connect laid-off workers with jobs.
