BULLITT COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The prospective brides of two Kentucky inmates are a suing a clerk of the court after he canceled their marriage licenses because the inmates couldn't appear in person to pick them up.
Sara Hudson and Patricia Locke say Bullitt County Clerk Kevin Mooney's actions have denied them the right to marry.
Both suits were brought with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union.
They want a judge to lift the requirement of appearing in person to apply for the license. In court records say Mooney rejections were based on legal advice.
