SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (WHAS 11) -- A dying boy who might have set the world record for getting the most Christmas Cards has died, according to Kentucky State police.
On Saturday, Kentucky State police announced on their facebook page that Honorary Trooper Dalton Dingus had lost his battle with stage four cystic fibrosis.
After a family friend posted his wish on Facebook, the cards began coming in from all over the world. By December, Dingus had received more than 504,000 cards.
A spokesperson for the Guinness Book of World Records said they didn't have a real category anymore but when they did, a Canadian held the record at 250,000.
