LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A possible crack found on the Kennedy Bridge during inspections Tuesday means drivers will be dealing with a lane closure again Wednesday while crews get a closer look.
The right lane of I-65 northbound will be shut down Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. for inspections as long as the weather cooperates.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the bridge is safe but there may be a crack in the steel on one of the upper sections of the bridge that carries very little of the load of the weight.
The state said the bridge at age 50, requires constant maintenance.
