LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The Kentucky State Fair Board is hoping to get a new convention hotel at the fairgrounds.
On Friday there will be a special meeting of the board to issue a request for proposals for construction of a new hotel at the Kentucky Expo Center.
The plans are for the hotel to be constructed near gate one.
The board has been working to get a new hotel in that area after the Executive Inn closed in 2008.
That meeting is Friday at 3 p.m.
