(WHAS11) -- Kentucky's state fuel testing lab is getting shut down. Agriculture Commissioner James Comer says when he first took office he was told the lab was making money by testing fuel and pesticides for other states.
The lab inspected gas from across the state but Comer says the lab failed to handle 500 random tests of gas state fuel.
Comer's predecessor Richie Farmer opened the lab. Farmer is facing dozens of allegations of violations involving misuse of funds and state employees.
