LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- With abs of steel, it's no wonder 64-year-old Robert Durbin is known as the Rock Hard Papaw.
"My grandkids call me Papaw, so Rock Hard Papaw just came to me naturally," Durbin told WHAS11.
Durbin has the physique of a 20-something, and the endurance to go with it, but he hasn't always been like this.
At 57, Durbin was out of shape and barely able to walk without a cane. He suffered a descending aortic aneurysm and was afraid he wouldn't get much more time with his grandchildren. So, Durbin walked into the Southwest YMCA and has stuck with it ever since.
Durbin and his daughter do a mix of crossfit, calisthenics and weight training. Durbin also takes kettle bell, kickboxing and yoga classes. He's living proof that health and fitness doesn't have an expiration date.
