LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- The storms moving through Thursday night put a stop to some of the action on the first night of the Kentucky State Fair.
People had to run for cover as the storms approached and the Cinderella and Sebastian Bach concert was delayed and finally canceled. That is despite fair officials posting on their Facebook page that the "all-clear" for the show was given at 9:45 p.m. The lights were turned on at Cardinals Stadium but the music never went on. A concert inside the neighboring Freedom Hall went on as planned.
Fair Board President Harold Workman said procedures have not changed since the deadly Indiana State Fair stage collapse in 2011 but confirmed it is on the minds of some of the staff. There were no reported problems.
WHAS11@11's Bryan Baker has more on the precautions that were taken Thursday night.
