LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Kentucky Kingdom developers have secured the financing to reopen the park.
The announcement comes just two days before the deadline.
Back in April the Kentucky State Fair Board extended the financing deadline by two months. A board spokeswoman said since that meeting, Kentucky Kingdom Llp has been able to finalize its financing.
A lease agreement was signed with developers in January to reopen the park in May of 2014.
This Thursday, the fair board's agenda includes a vote on a new technical services building to be built at the amusement park which has been closed since 2009.
