Meade County, Ky.  (WHAS11) - Authorities are investigating a homicide in a home in Meade County. Kentucky State Police say the murder happened Tuesday afternoon at a home near Hillcrest Drive and Rolling Trail in Brandenburg, Ky.

Authorities have identified the victim as 53-year-old Danny Embry. His body was found in a home on Wednesday and Kentucky State Police Officials say that Embry was killed by a gunshot wound.

Police have named a suspect in the case, Jeffrey Lay, who police say was also involved in a different shooting near a Louisville elementary school Tuesday evening.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Bruce Reeves told WHAS11 News that when Jeffrey Lay was taken into custody regarding the assault Tuesday, that Lay provided information to investigators that he was involved in another situation in Meade County.

Embry’s ex-wife tells WHAS11 News thay Embry knew Lay and Lay was supposed to give Embry a tattoo later this month.

She also told WHAS11 News that Embry will be missed by friends and family, especially his 11-year-old daughter.

Reeves confirms that Lay is the prime suspect in this murder and they are looking at him as a person of interest in other cases.
