FRANKFORT, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Two fires that broke out in Spencer County are now being investigated.
The Mt. Eden Fire Department first responded to a fire on Jan. 10 at a vacant, two-story property in Mt. Eden, Ky. It did not have any electrical service or utilities.
On Feb. 24, the fire department responded to another fire in Spencer County. This property was also a vacant, two-story building. The structure had been vacant for some time and was beginning to collapse on itself. The fire caused an undetermined amount of damage to AT&T fiber optic phone lines that interrupted telephone and 911 services.
Anyone with information about this fire is asked to call the Kentucky Arson Hotline at 1-800-27-ARSON. The Kentucky State Arson Task Force is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the arsonist. Callers may remain anonymous.
