LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Gruesome evidence videos and pictures were released Friday which is giving us more insight in to what happened the night two respected community members were gunned down at a Home Owner Association meeting at the Springdale Church.
Police video shows the taped off room where the Spring Creek HOA meeting was held Sept. 6, 2012.
Just inside the door, it's clear from the disheveled look of the room, there was a struggle. In transcripts from police interviews people in the room describe the moments before the shooting. They said Dr. Mahmoud Hindi walked in just as the meeting was starting.
According to the transcripts, it was the first meeting witnesses saw Hindi attend. Witnesses said he sat quietly for about 20 minutes, then he shot board president Dave Merritt and board member Marvin Fischer with a revolver.
The transcripts state two men, one a retired police officer, grabbed Hindi and held him until police arrived.
Merritt died at the scene. Fischer died a few days later.
While behind bars, Hindi has continued to get into trouble. He's been written up for behavior problems, including an incident where he allegedly threw water on an officer. He was also written up for engaging in sexual activities with another person.
He's expected back in court for a pre-trial hearing in April.
