LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- After nearly 12 hours of deliberation a jury sided with the Louisville Metro Police Department in the case of Richard Pearson Wednesday night.

Pearson sued the department after he said they violated the Whistle-blower Act.  Pearson claims he was retaliated against after supporting an officer trying to help free a woman who said she was wrongly imprisoned.

WHAS11's Brittany Gonzalez has more on the overnight verdict in the video player above.
