A whistleblower lawsuit is upheld and three local people could get their jobs back.
Three people were fired from the city of Jeffersontown. They say they complained about the work environment and lost their jobs.
Now a judge is ruling in their favor.
Their struggles started 4 years ago.
Dee Handy and Brad Silveria were dispatchers for the city of Jeffersontown.
They say they expressed their concern about a hostile work environment, mismanagement and abuse of power by their supervisor.
In 2007, these two along with a police officer were fired.
They filed a whistleblower lawsuit against Mayor Clay Foreman and the city, their suit was dismissed but an appeals judge ruled in their favor saying the lawsuit should stand.
We tried to reach the mayor for comment and did not hear back from him.
The two employees hope to hear something soon. They hope to hear they'll get their jobs back.
Silveria found another job a few months ago and so did the former police officer.
Handy has been out of work this entire time.
