LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A break-in early Monday morning left a Jeffersontown business owner out of hundreds of dollars.
According to Derb-E-Cigarettes owner, Troy LeBlanc, his store alarm went off at 1:19am. LeBlanc's security cameras caught the crook jumping over a wall. The suspect then shattered the store's door with a hammer. LeBlanc said the suspect took petty cash totaling several hundred dollars, but thankfully LeBlanc said none of his merchandise was stolen. LeBlanc said he recently re-stocked his merchandise and his business would have taken a substantial hit if the items were taken.
According to the surveillance video, the crook was inside the store for two minutes.
LeBlanc opened his business five months on the 9900 block of Taylorsville Road and said this was the first time his store has been broken into.
Jeffersontown Police were unable to say whether they believed this suspect was connected to any other crime in the area. Anyone with information is asked to call 267-0503.
