LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – New and current parents of the Jefferson County Public School district often weigh decisions about what school could be beneficial to their child’s educational needs.

JCPS held their annual “Showcase of Schools” where thousands of parents learned what the district had to offer.

Student demonstrations and information about specialty programs were some of the featured topics.

“Many of our parents are kindergarten moms and dads. Their first school experience needs to be a positive one. They’ll talk to our folks here to figure out which school applies to their child,” Kathy McGinnis, Director of Elementary School Assignments said.

Parents can begin registering their children online or several registration sites beginning on Monday.
