(WHAS 11)--Good news when it comes to graduation rates in Jefferson County Public Schools.

They are up district wide.

New numbers show 69 percent of freshman who entered the system in 2008 at JCPS graduated last year. That's up one and a half percent from the previous school year.

The JCPS dropout rate has also gone down more than 2 percent in the last five years.
