LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A series of break-ins has been happening in very public places.

In the case of Plainview, the tennis court and pool occupied with people were nearby.

“I come out to find – my passenger window smashed and my belongings taken,” an unidentified woman said.

The woman says she didn’t want to reveal her identity because whoever broke into her car took her purse, credit cards and identification.

“I guess they took advantage of people you know on Father’s Day enjoying themselves at the pool – and busy,” she said.

Someone smashed in the windows of cars and snatched any valuables inside.

Jeffersontown Police say four different cars were broken into and multiple other vehicles at Douglas Hill pool.

“It happened last year here at Plainview,” she said.

A similar incident happened at almost the exact same time last year but police say a group from Ohio is behind that robbery.

Jeffersontown’s police substation right next door does have cameras meaning there is a chance someone involved with the break-ins face could be in the video.

“The pool was full. The neighborhood had people outside cutting grass. I just can’t believe no one saw anything,” she said.

Police consider this another reminder not to keep your valuables left out in the open in your car.

Police do not have any suspects.

If you saw or noticed anything, you are asked to call Jeffersontown Police.
