LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Hundreds of students from across Kentucky competed in Louisville Saturday in the Robo Rumble contest at Westport Middle School.
The contest challenged students to solve problems using robots they built themselves.
Activities included a "sumo bot" contest where children had to use their robots to knock the competition out of a ring.
JCPS officials said this is a great way for students to apply what they have learned in math and science classes.
"These kids have been working hard with all the snow days we've had, it's great they can come and enjoy themselves," Pam Caudill, specialist for computer education support, said.
Competitors included students from JCPS and local Catholic schools, and some students from Hardin and Henry counties.
