LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAs11) -- If you’re debating whether an office lottery pool is the way to go, just ask Humana IT workers. For years a group of them have contributed to an office pool when the jackpots are especially high, but the most they’d won was $16 dollars…until Wednesday night when they matched five numbers to win the $1 million Powerball prize.
Now 29 techies are about $24,000 richer. However, only 27 of them contributed to Wednesday’s pool. Two of the regulars were not around; one was attending his father’s funeral. The group decided to include them anyway.
While $23,793.11 isn’t necessarily a life-changing amount of money, these coworkers say they can put it to good use.
