LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- If you don't like to ride bikes, jog or swim there is more evidence today than ever before that simply walking at least thirty minutes a day is good for your heart and losing weight.
Despite our searing heat, Humana employees say they are dedicated to wellness and walking as part of their 100-day-step competition.
Friday, July 19, marked the halfway point of the competition that encourages Humana associates to put on their pedometers and walk more during the work day.
“We're definitely a company of wellbeing and this is a great way to showcase wellbeing even though its 90 degrees outside we're here to support,” Alison Woodcock, with Humana, said.
So far Humana employees have walked more than 3.4 billion steps or 1.7 million miles.
