Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - There are some jobs that don't take any breaks for hot temperatures and carrying mail is one of them.
USPS mail carrier Jeannette Black has been delivering mail in Louisville for 14 years. She says this is one of the warmest summers she can remember.
"It is warm," she says. "I never say the 3-letter word. It's a little warm, that's all I say! I try to keep my mind focused, and I try not to think about it. I just keep moving!”
Jeanette moves through her route near 7th and Algonquin Parkway six days a week.
She says on days when the temperatures are high, she starts early and takes frequent breaks.
"I keep water; I keep Gatorade," she says. "I bring tea from home."
The US Postal Service employs about 700 mail carriers in the Louisville area.
