LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Fire investigators said they will not be able to determine the cause of a house fire in the 10000 block of Ivybridge Circle in Jefferson County on Tuesday, because the damage is too extensive.
“It's a shame. They're older people, they really have to be devastated,” said a neighbor.
The Worthington Fire Department says the fire started in the attic and that they could hear the smoke detectors going off when they arrived. Firefighters say the wind did not cause any problems, instead it was a lack of water.
“We were taking what we could out of the first hydrant and we ended up shutting down Springhurst Boulevard and using a St Matthews unit, we pulled a second set of lines out on Springhurst Boulevard,” said Captain Kevin Jump.
There was not any damage to any of the neighboring homes.
