LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) — The fire is out and seven people are safe after a blaze broke out in a home on Oregon Avenue Tuesday morning.

Firefighters were called to the 2300 block around 4:30 a.m. and worked quickly to get the fire under control.

Three adults, two teens and two children were at the home when the fire started. All seven made it out of the home safely and were outside when fire crews arrived on the scene.

Firefighters said smoke detectors alerted the family to the blaze.

Oregon Avenue is shut down at the 2300 block and is expected to remain closed to traffic for the next few hours.
