LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A topping off ceremony was held to celebrate the progress on the new Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Louisville on Thursday.
The ceremony is more of a toast especially because construction crews are in the final phase of work for the new hotel that will be on the corner of 4th and Chestnut streets.
It is expected to open in October.
The eight story hotel will have about 160 rooms and a rooftop restaurant and bar.
The hotel will share a courtyard and parking garage with the Henry Clay building.
The construction is creating 300 jobs. Once the hotel opens it will create more than 40 full-time jobs.
