LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A man once linked to one of Louisville's most high-profile murder suspects was arrested for growing marijuana.
Damon Shanklin was arrested after police found the grow operation in his home in the 2400 block of Elliot Avenue.
Police said they found court documents throughout the house and a 9mm gun in the bedroom.
Shanklin had been previously indicted with accused killer Ricky Kelly for an attempted murder in 2006.
When Kelly's case went federal, that charge was dismissed.
