LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A new chief was sworn in Sunday at the Okolona Fire Department.
Chief Chris Gosnell was formally promoted during a ceremony at the Okolona Fire Station.
He joined the department back in June of 1985 as a volunteer firefighter and has more than 25 years of experience.
Gosnell takes over for former Chief Rich Carlson, who retired after 39 years with the department and was a longtime supporter of the WHAS Crusade for Children.
As fire chief, Gosnell will manage a $5.2 million operating budget with 75 fire personnel.
