LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A few days ago a WHAS11 viewer sent us the picture showing a sign from Bardstown Road to the Gene Snyder Freeway was misspelled. The viewer tells us two signs were posted Sunday spelling Snyder- 'Synder.'
Those signs have now been corrected.
When Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Andrea Clifford found out, she knew she'd be getting an earful.
“We are probably going to get some grief about it and that's what’s happened,” Clifford said.
The plan documents for the brand new signs contained the misspelled word and then it was given to the contractor who then fabricated the signs in accordance with the plan. In this case, spellcheck didn't catch the switch.
“Snyder is a formal name, so when you’re doing spell check it's not like it’s going to tell you it's not correct,” Clifford said.
For those driving down Bardstown Road, the distraction is over.
