(WHAS 11) -- A Southern Indiana gas company has agreed to pay $75,000 in penalties for a natural gas explosion that destroyed a New Albany home and injured 6 people.
Vectren reached the settlement with the Indiana utility regulatory commission over the explosion on Woodrow Street last November.
The company agreed to pay the penalties and also modify their procedures for gas leaks.
Documents show workers didn't notify authorities until an hour after they struck a pipeline. By that time, the explosion had already happened.
